About the Computer Classes

Did you know computer classes at the Ann Arbor District Library are available for everybody (whether you have a library card or not), and at no charge? Also, as of April 1, registration is no longer required! Instead, classes are made available on a first-come, first-served basis. Computer labs open for class attendees 15 minutes before each class starts.

Springing Questions!

Do the bird songs in the morning remind you that you have something to say? Learn how to start your own blog for free using Blogger. What's a blog? This couple just made the news for their blog on how to live on a $1 a day diet.

Do you like to take digital photos of Spring flowers? Bring your camera to a Digital Camera 101 class or come to iPhoto, Flickr, or Photoshop Elements 101 to practice editing and sharing your photos using these three very different photo management programs.

Do you like to listen to books while you walk? Come to the Ebook class and learn how to download books from the Midwest Collaborative for Library Services.

Registration is not required for classes beginning April 1, 2010. Classes are filled on a first-come, first-serve basis. Classrooms will open 15 minutes before the class start times.

Create a DVD featuring your iPhoto Slideshows!

Do you have photos on a CD-ROM or USB flash drive that you'd love to use in a photo slideshow? If so, bring them with you to the iDVD class on Monday, March 15th and we'll show you how to import your photos into the iPhoto library, create a slideshow, choose music from iTunes, and create an iDVD. We'll provide the DVD's, you bring your photos and favorite CDs or songs. If you would like to practice using iDVD with your own Mac laptop, feel free to bring it along with you! Don't have your own photos? That's ok, we'll have some files on hand for you to practice with!

Come to the downtown library for the Meet the Mac class on Friday, March 12th to practice using a Mac computer. We'll talk about all of the Mac stuff like the Dashboard, Dock, Widgets, Alias, Spotlight, and more. Ever lost a file on your computer? March Computer Classes & eBay101

The March class schedule is available! We'll have a new class in March called eBay101. Learn how to create an eBay account to sell your stuff online. Why pay a third-party to sell your stuff on eBay when you can do it yourself. This class will review selling tips and explain some of the important features of eBay such as the PayPal account, eBay listings, and shipping. This class will also cover computer requirements, such as internet access and macromedia flash player, photos, etc. Basic computer skills and an email account are required.

Learn the Tricks and Tips of aadl.org

iLearn: iDVD & iPhone

Drop by the downtown library this Friday, January 15th to learn about iDVD and iPhone.

iDVD - bring some digital photos with you on a memory stick and your favorite music cd and we'll show you how to create a DVD slideshow with music using iTunes, iPhoto and iDVD. If you don't have your own photos, that's O.K., we'll have some digital photos for you to use.

iPhone - you don't have to have an iPhone to come to this class... but curiosity is required. We'll demonstrate the features of the iPhone and answer questions like: What's the difference between an iPhone and an iTouch? What's a cellular data network? What's the difference between model 3G and the 3Gs?
