Baby Bits - Dancing Babies on Saturday

DANCING BABIES is a family event for "the Five and Under" crowd.
Gari Stein will lead the program Saturday morning, January 14, 2012, at the Pittsfield Branch Library. Young "Twinkle Toes" families are invited to "Polish and Shine" muscles and voices at this popular Preschool Music and Motion Program. The program will begin at 11:00 am and end by 11:45 am.
It has the makings for one Happy Day!

Cereal Box Scrapbooks

Collect up your photos, ticket stubs, and other memorabilia to create a scrapbook from cereal boxes. We will provide cereal boxes for cool covers and other scrapbooking supplies. Make Your Own Board Game!

Have you ever considered making your own board game? What would it look like? What would it do?

Come to the Pittsfield Branch Library on Tuesday, January 3rd, 2012 from 2:00 - 3:00 p.m. and make your own board game. Will it have a path? Will it have dragons blocking the way? What will be the reward for finishing?

This is for children preschool through 5th grade. Supplies and boards will be provided. For a start to planning your game, look at this.

Celebrate the New Year! Craft program

Get ready to ring in 2012! Come to the Pittsfield Branch Library on Friday, Dec. 30 from 2:00 - 3:00 p.m. and create some hats and noisemakers to help you bring in the new year.

Block Printing Workshop @ Pittsfield

At this block printing workshop you will create a design, carve the design into a linoleum block with the proper tools, and then print the image onto paper and/or note cards. This is your chance to create wall art, or perhaps design a card.

Did you attend a past workshop at AADL and are looking for more instruction, ideas and practice? Or are you a first timer wondering what block printing is all about? This workshop is for you.

We will supply all the tools necessary, you supply the creativity! If you have something you’d like to print on, or have your own tools, feel free to bring them.

Don't forget to check out some of AADL’s books on block printing for a spark of ideas.

This DIY event is for Grades 6- Adult, and takes place at Pittsfield on Wednesday, December 14, from 6:30-8:30pm. See you there!

Halloween Fun!

Come to the Pittsfield Branch on Monday, October 31, 2011 from 4 - 6 p.m. for some creative Halloween fun. We'll have some crafts to do; goggles, spider webs, pumpkins and more! We'll also have cider and donuts. Join us for Halloween fun!!!!
All supplies will be provided. For preschool through grade 5.

Family Camp-in at the Library!

Come to the Pittsfield Branch Library on Tuesday, August 9 from 7:00 to 8:00 p.m. for a Family Camp-in. We'll sit around the campfire, tell stories and sing songs. The music will be led by musician Sara Melton Keller. We'll also play a game and do some crafts. No campfire is complete without s'mores. We'll make some of those, too!

Global Safari with Ventriloquist Vikki Gasko

So far this summer we've had a magician and a juggler. Now it's time for a ventriloquist. Join us this Tuesday, July 26 at 2:00 p.m at the Pittsfield Branch for a great show by ventriloquist Vikki Gasko and her charming friends from around the world. The show will be repeated at the Downtown Library at 7:00 p.m that evening.

Juggler Jason Kollum at AADL!

It's going to be a very exciting week in Ann Arbor. Along with the Art Fair there are always many interesting activities. We're going to provide you with one of them. On Tuesday, July 19 Juggler Jason Kollum will be coming from Chicago to the Library for two shows. At 2:00 p.m. he'll be performing at the Pittsfield Branch. At 7:00 p.m. he'll be at the Downtown Library.
