래퍼 김진표가 2003년 jp4 이후, 5년만의 신보를 발표하고 대중 속으로 파고들었다. 16트랙 전곡 작사, 작곡, 편곡까지 올 프로듀스를 맡은 김진표는 그의 작업실 ‘소리현상소’에서 거침없는 래퍼의 귀환을 일궈냈다. 3년을 넘게 작업한 이번 JP5는 여전히 저돌적이다. 그러나, 세상을 관조하는 미학의 깊이는 수록곡 면면에서 오롯이 드러난다. 김진표는 이번 음반에 대한 애정의 객관적 정표로 뉴욕에서 브라스 세션을 녹음하고 마스터링까지 함으로써 충실한 사운드를 걸러냈다. 수록곡 전곡을 그 누구에게도 손을 대게 하지 않음으로써 그의 음악적 성취를 충분히 엿보게 한다. 집시풍 사운드부터 트랜스까지 시대를 초월해서 보여주는 여러 가지 음악 스타일은 그의 음악적 스펙트럼을 투영하고 있다. 그 위에 뿌려져있는 다양한 스타일의 랩핑 역시 농익었다는 평가를 아울러 받아냈다. 트랙을 넘겨가다 보면 김진표가 바라보는 세상과 인생에 관한 고민과 성찰이 또렷이 각인되어 있다.

Formerly of group Panic and Novasonic, Kim Jin Pyo presents his fifth creation Galanty Show, almost five years after the release of his highly acclaimed fourth cut JP4. Tapping into his creative potential, Kim takes full control of the album from producing to composing to penning the lyrics, allowing not even a single drop of outside input except for his own. Now engraved with his stamp of approval, Galanty Show sees Kim pushing the envelope of musical conventions by dabbling in a variety of sounds including trance and gypsy style music. Each of the sixteen tracks featured in the album speaks of Kim's journey of soul-searching and his introspection on life. Many music industry stars lent their talents to Kim's latest album, including singer Beige in Na euh ju mok ("My Fist" - Track 2); Jin Ho in Yukjeon mallyu home run ("Grand Slam Home Run" - Track 3); Gil & Jung In in Ah jik, neul...
