Playgroups

Wednesday October 15, 2014: 11:00 am to 12:00 pm -- Pittsfield Branch: Program Room

This is a time for babies up to 24 months and their grown-ups to gather and play. The Library will provide the space and a variety of toys.

Each playgroup includes 15 minutes of stories, rhymes and songs. Parents/guardians must remain with their children.

No older siblings, please.

Maker Faire Music With Local Inventor Curtis Glatter

Wednesday October 15, 2014: 7:00 pm to 8:30 pm -- Downtown Library: Multi-Purpose Room

Veteran musician and Maker Faire inventor Curtis Glatter will be hosting a workshop about his newest multi-functional musical invention called Multiplexica2014. Four years in the Making, the invention was premiered at the 2014 Maker Faire Detroit and the workshop at AADL will consist of HOW to have fun while learning to sample and put music together using 'found objects or items one may gather from a resale shop.' Q and A is welcomed and limited CD's will be available at this event.

English as a Second Language Conversation Group

Washtenaw Literacy's ESL groups focus on speaking and listening skills for adults in an informal, relaxed setting. TOEFL preparation is also available.

Ann Arbor Women Artists – Fall 2014 Juried Exhibition

October 16, 2014 through November 24, 2014 -- Downtown Library: 3rd Floor Exhibit and Downtown Library: Lower Level Display Cases and Downtown Library: Multi-Purpose Room Exhibit

Each calendar year the AAWA holds two or three juried shows. A juror is invited to select from a large group of submissions a final show that is a reflection of the body of work produced by the membership which ranges from beginning to professional artist.

Ann Arbor Women Artists is a non-profit organization of approximately 330+ women and men with connections to Ann Arbor, ranging from beginning to professional artists. The purpose of the AAWA is to stimulate creative expression and sharing among its members in order to continually raise the quality of the art produced.
