Make History tonight by joining Mayor Hieftje at 6 p.m. tonight, Nov. 16th, at the official lighting ceremony at Liberty Plaza to kickoff the holiday season. Why History? Because the holiday glow this year will be from environementally friendly LED lights -- 114,000 to be exact -- one for every resident of Tree Town. All those beautiful lights throughout the Downtown will require 80% less energy. Bet Columbus, Ohio is still using old-fashioned lights.

I have to admit, I very much like the idea that somewhere around Ann Arbor, there's an LED light just for me...
