It’s Time To Start The Music!

Henson’s Place: The Man Behind the Muppets, a 1984 documentary made for British TV, is a short overview of mastermind Jim Henson’s career up until the making of the film. It begins with his wife Jane and their birth into the world of puppetry. The film chronicles Henson’s career from the beginning, and covers the creation of the characters for The Muppet Show, Sesame Street, Fraggle Rock, The Dark Crystal, and more. Did you know that American television networks turned down The Muppet Show and that it was produced in England?

The voice of Kermit wooed adults and children alike with his puppetry and wit. He and long-time puppeteering partner Frank Oz (the voice of Fozzie Bear, Miss Piggy and Bert) had a playful balance that allowed for creativity to continue flowing for years out of the Henson Workshop.
