They all sound like wonderful choices for a community read, but I just finished Mountains Beyond Mountains and loved it. It is engaging and Paul Farmer's work and beliefs would generate lively debate, I think.

I agree with the first comment -- Mountains Beyond Mountains would be a wonderful choice. In this day of globalization of trade and culture, considering how we are, as citizens of the world, is of primary importance.

Better Together would be an excellent choice as it provides a wide range of uplifting stories of individuals and groups who have helped develop communities that have made dramtic strides in supporting improved quality of life within the community.
This is particularly helpful in a time when we see and hear of the eroding of community and the seemingly insurmountable obstacles to shared action.
