Hello, Dragon!

Word is out that martial arts superstar Bruce Lee will be the subject of a new Broadway musical featuring music by David Bowie. Director Matthew Warchus (who is currently about to unveil The Lord of the Rings musical) is also attached to the project. To prepare yourself for this side-splitting East Side Story, check out Enter the Dragon or The Bruce Lee Ultimate Collection recently added to the aadl collection.

Also in the works is a musical version of the hit martial arts film Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon.

I cannot even begin to imagine what a Bruce Lee musical would look or sound like, but the idea is certainly intriguing! Will there be a song about the one inch punch?

Personally, my favorite Bruce Lee movie is The Way of the Dragon (aka The Return of the Dragon), which he also directed and wrote. Dragon: The Bruce Lee Story is also an entertaining movie, despite its factual inaccuracies.

I've only seen Enter the Dragon.. I was not very impressed, but then, it was a sort of ninja-sploitation film.

Oh my goodness. I don't know whether a Bruce Lee musical (with Bowie music, no less!) would be the best thing ever or, like toothpaste and orange juice, good things individually that should never be combined.
