The Story of India, first in a series of six, hosted by Michael Wood, began on PBS this week. The history and culture of this country is endlessly rich, fascinating and ancient.
Don’t miss the series and take some time to explore all things India in the AADL’s holdings.
Start with India by Michael Wood (host of the PBS series), Idea of India by Sunil Khilnani, Fodor’s India and National Geographic Traveler, India.
Next move on to the great fiction writers who have been popping out of India left and right. Several have won the Man Booker prize including Salman Rushdie, Aravind Adiga and
Arundhati Roy.
Now take in some of Bollywood’s best offerings including Sholay, Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge and Fanaa.
