Consistent Hard-Edged Blues submitted by Meginator on July 30, 2019, 11:39pm With simple instrumentation consisting primarily (or possibly only) of a guitar and percussion accents, this album evokes a grungy blues vibe that is nothing if not consistent. A few of the tracks are genuinely catchy, though most rely on a lot of repetition and none strays too far from the album’s overall established sound. Lyrically, Bluesboy Jag primarily examines those most bluesy of topics: the various trials of love and daily working-class life. These songs may be a bit repetitive, but their rough-edged blues style works pretty well.
