This documentary tracks the course of Hergé's stories of Tintin, a young adventurer Georges Remi used to chronicle turbulent 20th century events. From early Catholic influenced, anti-communist and racially insensitive stories "Tintin in the Land of the Soviets" and "Tintin in the Congo" to the anti-fascist "King Ottokar's Sceptre," to more socially progressive adventures such as "Tintin in Tibet," Hergé's evolving political and cultural views are traced through his 22 book series. With archived footage and expert interviews, this film charts Hergé's journey from a Belgian boy scout to a mature cartoonist, during which he created a timeless classic that connects with readers worldwide
