Shatila is a Palestinian refugee camp in Lebanon where hundreds were killed in a 1982 massacre. This program is a unique immersive experience that takes you into one of the world's oldest refugee camps, through its overcrowded streets and alleyways, in search of the people who have been living there for over 60 years. You'll meet children politicized from infancy playing war games in the back yard; Fatima, whose son spends his meager allowance helping his brothers and sisters; and old Tawil, who lived through the 1948 exodus and is frantically looking for the key he misplaced to his house in Palestine. Step into the daily lives of all these people, left stateless by the nakba (catastrophe) that consigned an entire people to forced idleness and oblivion
