The Smiths: Under Review is a documentary covering the full story and music of The Smiths. It features rare musical performances, videos, TV appearances, band interviews, and expert commentary from an esteemed panel of experts. This film is the first of its kind to document the history of one of the most important bands of the 1980s. The program's experts discuss The Smiths' tour of America after releasing The Queen Is Dead, a period where American audiences finally began to warm to the band. It includes contributions from producers Stephen Street, John Porter, and Kenny Jones; Smiths fifth member Craig Gannon; disc jockey David Jensen; famed British journalist Paul Morley; and Mark Simpson, author of the book, "Saint Morrissey." Journalists Paul Morley, Nigel Williamson, Jake Kennedy, and John Robb also weigh in, along with Factory Records supreme Tony Wilson. An essential video for Smiths fans!
