Great Jazz Trio submitted by Meginator on August 21, 2021, 10:24am This album is amazing, with its best cuts so good that they more than make up for the more experimental, loose tracks that have an airy aimlessness to them. The trio consists of percussion, bass, and piano, with an emphasis on rhythmic innovation in the piano and a generally upbeat vibe that constantly takes the music in unexpected and exciting new directions. The album has all of the energy and vitality of a live performance (which it must be, given the applause between songs) and the polish of a trio that is obviously very comfortable playing together. This is a great album for anyone who enjoys inventive jazz, particularly with the piano front and center.
