Cute book submitted by melissahimich on July 13, 2018, 5:45pm I liked the way it folded out. It was just like many of the other counting books, but it was cute.

I WIsh It Flowed Better submitted by Meginator on June 26, 2023, 9:59pm I really like the idea of this book, which has fantastic read-aloud possibilities in both its textual and visual elements, but it ultimately falls flat despite some great illustrations. The book’s folding structure makes for a nice physical framework for its bilingual text, but the rhythm doesn’t always flow naturally despite the fact that it is clearly meant to be sung aloud (a chorus appears on every page). The greyscale illustrations are full of detail and offer a lot of possibilities for eagle-eyed readers to find small details as the number of skeletons grows, making the book worthwhile for readers who are particularly interested in books about Mexican cultural traditions or bilingual picture books despite its lack of a natural rhythm.
