Surprising Science of Trees submitted by sdunav on June 17, 2017, 10:32am I absolutely loved this combination of great science, elegant writing, and interesting memoir about forestry, trees, and ecology in Germany.

Forests As Sentient Beings submitted by BookNerd on August 5, 2017, 8:56pm Wohlleben uses his life long experience in forest management, combined with the research of Suzanne Simard to argue the thesis that trees as individuals and as groups use chemical communications tools to both share and store information.

Essentially, current science knowledge leads to the conclusion that trees "talk", "remember", and alter their "behavior" in logical and measurable ways.

Fascinating! submitted by garotagretta on June 16, 2018, 5:39pm I knew trees were impacted by their environments but had no idea to what extent they were reacting, and they seem to possess an intelligence far beyond anything I ever imagined. This book was really well written and an eye-opener.

Fascinating and Easy Read submitted by abigailrose on June 14, 2019, 1:47pm Not only did I learn an immense amount from this book, but it was also broken up into short, easily-digestible chapters that made it easy to start up right where I left off. It definitely left me with a new appreciation for our forests and natural resources, and I'd recommend it to anyone of all ages.

The Hidden Life of Trees : : What They Feel, how They Communicate : Discoveries From a Secret World submitted by Varshini on August 30, 2019, 10:00pm There was a TED talk about a somewhat similar topic. I found this book simply enthralling. Definitely recommended!

Everyone should read this book! submitted by annalarks on August 27, 2023, 4:21pm I may be biased as a tree-lover, but this book explains just how magical trees really are! There are so many fascinating abilities trees have that most people would never believe before reading this book. Highly recommend!
