Zootopia is a city like no other that is comprised of habitat neighborhoods like ritzy Sahara Square and frigid Tundratown, it's a melting pot where animals from every environment live together. The humor is great for kids but there's plenty of puns for adults too, and some easter eggs for the true Disney fan. The look of the movie is also wondefully unique and a fantastic set up for our characters. The message of the movie is one of the most relevant issues addressed right now. Plus - the music is great and there's a fantastic arch to each character and the movie as a whole. I LOVE THIS MOVIE!!!!

Pretty Good, but Preachy submitted by Meginator on August 4, 2017, 10:31pm Zootopia is, in many ways, a return to form for Disney animation. The cast is excellent, the plot moves ever forward, and the jokes are effortless and appeal to audiences of all ages without being unduly crass. It's not exactly a study in subtlety, and some aspects of its central metaphors break down upon close inspection, but the film's heart is in the right place. The film is certainly worth watching and, at the very least, should make you think.

But the movie is very cute and I have not minded that the kids want ton watch it over and over.

Better Than Expected, Not As Good As the Hype submitted by jgerman79 on July 24, 2019, 7:32pm Zootopia was supposedly the best young kids movie of its year. I have no idea if that's true. It's certainly fun to watch, has some good messages, and does have a couple surprises in between the predictable stuff. And I love puns, so it hits me well there. But it's not the best. It tries so hard to push the "racial discrimination is bad" message that it doesn't realize it's also propagating racial stereotypes. Young kids won't get that though, so - enjoy!
