COMMUNITY REVIEWS

SNL duo have chemistry submitted by shumoon on May 16, 2016, 8:31am The chemistry between Fey and Poehler makes this comedy work. Great supporting cast too. The drug humor was a lazy way to get a laugh, though it did get me laughing :)

Total miss.... submitted by Kikumatsu97 on June 23, 2016, 11:24am The badly written Sisters attempts to yank at your heart strings, while making you laugh, but it falls short. It's hard to connect with the characters and although it's funny in some parts, at other times you feel like its trying too hard to make you laugh. All in all, I didn't even bother finishing it. It's kind of long for what it is, and I lost interest in the objective. Give it up ladies, sometimes it's best NOT to stick with what you know, especially when it's been done so many times.

a mixed bag submitted by kencza on July 10, 2016, 9:13pm made me laugh at times and made me cringe at others-
I usually enjoy Amy and Tina but not so much this time

Doesn't meet expectations submitted by jagadees on August 6, 2016, 7:25am Tina and amy were good but the script was not very compelling.

Sisters submitted by yenkong on July 29, 2017, 9:29pm It's fine if you like this duo. I like it.

Fun submitted by hollieesper121573 on August 13, 2017, 5:51pm Really fun movie with the low rating I was a little afraid it would be a letdown but I would recommend to others

sisters submitted by avrogers1 on August 17, 2017, 5:29pm This movie was absolutely helarious. It had a lot of big comedy hitters.

Hilarious submitted by Meginator on August 22, 2017, 1:34pm Tina Fey and Amy Poehler are a hilarious duo and they bring their excellent comedic chemistry to this film. Nothing about the plot is unsurprising, from its premise to the attempts at emotional heft, but the jokes are funny and the message is warmly delivered and received. Sometimes you just want to laugh out loud for two hours or so, and this film offers a great opportunity to relax and be entertained. As long as you go in expecting a certain kind of humor and a certain type of film, you probably won't be disappointed. I really enjoyed this one.

Worth watching twice submitted by camismom2 on June 21, 2018, 10:35pm I saw this a while back when it first came out, and when I spotted it while perusing dvds I snagged it for a second an time. Tina Fey and Amy Poehler are hysterical. Laughed out loud several times. This is meant to be a comedy, not an intellectually stimulating movie. Adult appropriate- not kids.

ok submitted by kbahleda on July 23, 2018, 10:52am Although not as funny as I was hoping. Cute that it had the family aspect

Worth the check-out from the library submitted by Xris on August 10, 2018, 12:39am Like others said, it wasn't as funny as I was hoping, but it was a good movie. It was very entertaining to watch the Improvorama that they had as a bonus! Tina and Amy work well together!

Sisters submitted by lstorc on August 8, 2019, 9:35pm Sisters is humorous in an irreverent way.

The party scene in itself is almost literally a riot. submitted by sVfGI7Glt2pz7GZgVB90 on August 15, 2020, 10:59pm Tina Fey and Amy Poehler play a couple of middle-aged sisters. They get a phone call from their parents saying they're selling the family home in Florida. They can come home and finally clear out their teenage bedrooms. Amy Poehler's character was a bit of a goody-goody when they were teenagers. The sisters decide they're going to throw a big party to let her finally let her hair down. I laughed like a drain.

sisters submitted by VanCancue on August 19, 2020, 10:06pm I am beginning to appreciate this duo more. It works to pass the time. its not mind numlingly hilarious but sufficiently entertaining comedic drama.
