Miss Marple returns to help solve mysteries with her keen powers of observation and her quiet common-sense analysis. Towards zero: Eyebrows arch when the dashing Wimbledon tennis star Nevile Strange arrives with his attractive new wife, even though the first wife is also attending. Miss Marple observes the tightly wound group as they holiday by the sea, sensing the sexual tensions and unresolved jealousies that lead to murder. Nemesis: Miss Marple receives a request from an old friend, the recently deceased Mr. Rafiel, to investigate a possible crime. The only direction he leaves her is to look for clues on a mystery bus tour. At Bertram's Hotel: Revisiting a glamorous London hotel that she remembers fondly from her girlhood, Miss Marple finds that nothing has changed, including the atmosphere of danger beneath its highly polished veneer. Ordeal by Innocence: Miss Marple is invited to a wedding of her former housemaid Gwenda, and her fiancé Leo Argyle. Leo's grown children and family are still reeling from the murder of their mother and the execution of their brother Jacko for the crime. A stranger arrives who exonerates Jacko, leading all to realize that the real murderer is still in their midst.
DVD; NTSC, region 1; widescreen (16:9) presentation; Dolby Digital stereo.

COMMUNITY REVIEWS

Not your ordinary Miss Marple submitted by teri on August 7, 2018, 10:35pm Geraldine McEwan plays a very different kind of Miss Marple. Those of us who grew up on Joan Hickson may be surprised at the liberties taken with the revamping of Agatha Christie's "Jane Marple". However, this PBS series is very well done - McEwan plays her part well - and the mysteries are quite satisfying.

Lovely submitted by majean on August 17, 2018, 12:59pm Really hooked on this series.
