Beautifully Simple, Down to Earth Poems submitted by Maria Maguire on July 4, 2018, 12:10am I'm not a huge fan of poetry in general. I hate when poems get too long, overly descriptive, and confusing. Mary Oliver is the opposite of that. Her poems are simple, elegant, and fun to read. While many of them focus on nature, they aren't overly ornate. Almost all of her poems made me smile and immediately read them again. This slim book is also easy to read straight through in one sitting, although you'll want to come back to it. A strong recommendation.
