Glitchy Grooves submitted by Meginator on July 2, 2019, 10:59pm This album’s title perfectly encapsulates its core aesthetic: Bassnectar’s sound takes glitchy-sounding effects and weaves them into grooves that provide the base (and, uh, the bass) for the vocal tracks (mostly rap) that tie each track together. I enjoyed the frequent incorporation of 8-bit sounds, which adds to a rich soundscape that, despite all of its disparate elements, results in a laid-back, relaxing vibe.
