Synth-Pop submitted by Meginator on July 7, 2017, 1:02pm The songs on this album fall into two broad categories: ethereal synth-pop and upbeat synth-pop. Both modes suit Marina's voice, but most of the stronger tracks fall into the latter category. I was surprised to find that my favorite songs were scattered throughout the album, with some of the best (to my ear, anyway) coming near the end. Marina & the Diamonds cultivates a unique sound on this album and I appreciate the craft behind it, even if it doesn't always work for me personally.
