Maangchi's delicious recipes submitted by csheilac on July 11, 2016, 10:34pm I love Maangchi, she's my favorite Korean cookbook author/blogger/chef! I love watching her videos on her website, but this cookbook was great for browsing too, and I got to learn about Korean ingredients. However, some of the recipes I know I will never attempt, like making my own Gochujang, Kimchi, etc. Its just too much work and without proper tools and ingredients, it's just not going to work for me. Another thing that prevented me from giving this cookbook 5 stars is just a minor, personal preference -- I've followed and made successfully her Kimchi Stew from her website, but in this cookbook its Kimchi Stew and Clams. I wish she just included the basics in this cookbook, instead of trying to throw fancy things in.

There are a lot of step by step photos, perfect for a beginner chef! There is stuff on substitutes for ingredients if you don't have the right ingredients on hand. There are tips on technique to improve your skill too! Ans while you're at it, read a little about the origin of your food!
My favorite Korean cookbook submitted by kjshaffer on July 13, 2019, 7:29pm I am definitely one of maangchi's food fans and love her youtube channel and website. This book has a great collection of recipes. She has written this book so that it is simple to follow, and the flavors, wow! The book is beautifully photographed and has a great introduction that shares her very interesting backstory. I went out and bought this book after reading it, I love it that much.
