Study This Book Before Your Trip to Chicago submitted by Moira A Tannenbaum on July 30, 2019, 11:04pm A typical beautifully illustrated Dorling Kindersley (DK) "Eyewitness Traveler" book, this guidebook is concise (212 pages) and organized. Don't miss the "How to Use This Guide" section at the beginning of the book: more so than in other travel books, this is an important feature. The "street by street" feature in many sections of the book is particularly helpful if you are a fan of maps. One thing DK does so beautifully is attaching thumbnail photos of must-see buildings and art to small area maps, so you easily grasp the highlights of an area.
I recommend this book but also found it a bit difficult to navigate if I hadn't studied a section prior to my trip to Chicago. A drawback I've found with other books in the series is making an occasional trip to see a beautiful artifact that is in a neighborhood with little else of interest to the casual visitor.
