Soulless' Next Generation submitted by sdunav on June 12, 2015, 12:17pm The main character - Prudence - is the daughter of the two main characters in Soulless. This was an occasionally very silly, but I enjoyed the alternative history/paranormal steampunk story set in India anyway. I did not like the love triangle being set up. If you liked "The Parasol Protectorate" series you'll probably enjoy this spinoff - but I wouldn't start off reading Carriger with this.

I love the heroine and her chosen family, her reckless adventures, and the expansion of the world that was introduced in her earlier series. I also like the critical eye on British imperialism and the more diverse cast of characters.
