Narrator, Luis Valdez.
Discusses painter Diego Rivera and his stay in the United States during the 1930s. Looks at murals he created in San Francisco, Detroit and New York. Examines how Rivera's depictions of scenes of American life on the walls of community buildings influenced the American conception of public art and provided the inspiration for President Franklin Delano Roosevelt's WPA program to adorn public buildings with art.
