Break on Through to the Other Side submitted by Meginator on August 21, 2021, 9:54am As with a lot of books by this creative combo, this picture book works on multiple levels and is an excellent choice for all ages. The illustrations pair with the sparse text to advance the plot and provide most of the book’s (ironic) humor; this is a story that would only work in the picture book format, and it’s great to see how Barnett & Klassen take advantage of it. My only complaint is that the ending is a bit confusing; I understand that it’s (probably?) supposed to be circular, but unfortunately it doesn’t quite stick the landing. Even so, it’s still a gem of a book.

Read this one again! submitted by teri on June 25, 2023, 10:43am That's what both the 3 and 5 year old said when choosing from a wide selection of "read-to-me" books.. The dog was a favorite too - always subtly pointing to the right direction to dig, while Sam and Dave dug elsewhere. A fun, engaging book.
