Great wrap to a great series submitted by Susan4Pax -prev. sueij- on August 9, 2016, 10:15pm An excellent ending to an outstanding 4-book series. I'm glad the author decided to expand the intended-trilogy to four books, because he really does justice to the story by giving it this amount of attention.

There are quite a lot of characters who we are invested in by this time in the series. They reach a wide variety of types of resolution, and not everyone gets a happy ending. (This is among the reasons that I would recommend the series for high school and older.) But very little about the ending felt forced. There was just a little "well, that's convenient,"... but upon further thought, it still fit well within the context of the rest of the story.

Too many YA books (IMHO) have hormonal teens who pretty much single-handedly change the world. One of the things I love most about this series is that these young people don't. By being who they are... by trying to survive... by acting thoughtfully or impulsively... they set off a chain of events that.... Well. You'll have to read the books. But sometimes things add up to more than the sum of their parts. This tells that story, beautifully.
