Amazing Illustration Style submitted by Meginator on June 28, 2023, 11:10pm This stunning picture book has an incredible visual style to it and a lovely story to match, making it an excellent choice for any time of year (not just spooky season). The bold linocut illustrations make excellent use of heavy lines and blank space, allowing the superimposed ghosts to exist on a different visual layer in a way that makes them at once distinct, ethereal, and present in the story. The text is light and the book can be enjoyed even by readers who know little Spanish, given that the pictures deliver most of the important points and carry the humor. I highly recommend this for its amazing and memorable illustrations and its lighthearted, visually inventive take on the familiar haunted house trope.
