Steer clear of the baking powder only banana bread
submitted by willow on August 22, 2015, 6:56am
This cookbook has much to recommend it, but do not fall into the British trap of making banana bread with baking powder. It will be disgusting, light colored, and inedible. Alas, Ms. Hornby advocates for just such a concoction. Don't do it! Use baking soda and get a delicious brown loaf instead. Use an American cookbook.
Many of these recipes are fairly standard British baked goods.
