Incredible look into North Korean life submitted by gladaaro on June 29, 2019, 12:06pm The story told by Suki Kim is an amazing look into the life in North Korea. She goes deeply into the effects of living in the regime, even for the short time she was there, and how much it affected her physically and mentally. It is a touching story where the author tries to connect with sons of the most elite of the country, who are "the best of the best" because they are the best at following orders and not questioning anything. The emotional connection Suki has with her students is often cut off due to their insane culture, yet she tries hard to teach them even a small amount about the world outside their walled-in campus.
