Hercule Poirot's quiet supper in a London coffee house is interrupted when a young woman confides to him that she is about to be murdered. She is terrified, but begs Poirot not to find and punish her killer. Once she is dead, she insists, justice will have been done. Later that night, Poirot learns that three guests at a fashionable London hotel have been murdered, and a cufflink has been placed in each one's mouth. Could there be a connection with the frightened woman? While Poirot struggles to put together the bizarre pieces of the puzzle, the murderer prepares another hotel bedroom for a fourth victim.

Agatha Christie - she isn't submitted by sandigra on January 15, 2015, 3:44pm Was disappointed in the story and the writing. Didn't read like a Hercule Poirot mystery. Character was wrong and the story had too many twists and turns, and was too long. Too bad!!!
Unless you just can't get enough Poirot submitted by kathscot on August 10, 2020, 9:16am A decent attempt, but not Christie. Stick with the ones she wrote.
Reasonably good submitted by JPollak on August 15, 2022, 7:55pm It's reasonably good as a mystery novel. There's an attempt at some character development for the non-Poirot character and if you read this as just a regular detective story then it's pretty decent. It just doesn't carry the same classic qualities of Agatha Christie.
