Ghost world -- Garage sale -- Punk day -- The first time -- Hubba hubba -- The Norman Square -- A smile and a ribbon -- October.
One of the best-selling and critically-acclaimed graphic novels of all-time telling the story of two supremely ironic, above-it-all teenagers facing the thrilling uncertainty of life after high school. As they attempt to carry their life-long friendship into a new era, the careful dynamics of their inseparable bond are jolted, and what seemed like a future of endless possibilities looks more like an encroaching reality of strip malls, low-paying service jobs and fading memories.

This graphic novel was interesting, however it did not fully explore some of the more sci-fi elements it introduced, such as the "Ghost World". It was still able to convey the spookiness, but ultimately I was left feeling as if there should have been a sequel. That being said, there still really was a lot of emotion and plot that allowed the reader to feel connected and attached to the characters and the challenges they either overcame or suffered.
I found it interesting that there is also a movie version, with a young Scarlett Johansson, that seemed to be well-received albeit different than the graphic novel.
