The Bravest Knight submitted by SBNB on August 2, 2017, 11:58am This is a cute book. We especially liked the ending.
Not Mayer's best effort submitted by FordAlpha on August 14, 2018, 9:11pm The full-color, pen-and-ink illustrations are appealing, but the story is fairly weak. "The Bravest Knight", it turns out, is not the young boy shown on the cover, but an imaginary hero whose squire the boy pretends to be. Their imaginary adventures are lively enough, but the end is a head-scratcher. When the knight fails to emerge from the troll's castle, shouldn't the kid plunge in after him, tickle the troll or something, and emerge as victorious savior of the hapless grownup? Here, he just decides that the Medieval life isn't for him after all. So much for "Bravest".
