Catchy K-Pop submitted by Meginator on August 31, 2019, 11:16pm I didn’t know what to expect from this album, but I was hooked from the beginning of the first track; these songs are really catchy. The quartet is remarkably adept at both the upbeat pop songs and the ballads, and their complementary talents balance out well to create a consistent, creative, and satisfying group of tracks. The prevailing musical element is straightforward pop, with occasional influences from other genres (most notably rap, rock, and r&b), and the group executes it to perfection. The blend of Korean and English elements is particularly interesting, and as someone who does not understand Korean I still found the songs perfectly compelling, perhaps even more so as my focus was drawn to the way the lyrics sound rather than what they say. Overall, I’m glad I took a chance on this and I thoroughly enjoyed it.
