Muppets! submitted by Suzanne Muenz on July 22, 2014, 9:49pm My kids love the Muppets and enjoyed this book...

Great for Muppet fans submitted by 23lisq on July 1, 2015, 11:57pm If you want to learn more about the muppets, this book is great.

It's Time to Meet the Muppets submitted by Meginator on July 7, 2019, 5:48pm This encyclopedia provides brief biographies of tons of Muppet characters, from Animal to Zoot (note, however, that neither Sesame Street characters nor Fraggles are included, as this focuses on characters from the Muppet-branded television shows and films). I appreciate the book’s broad focus, which gives bit players from the early days of the Muppet Show equal billing with long-time stars and recent additions; every Muppet fan will find their favorites here, be they forgotten or eternally beloved. Each character’s page lists their debut and a few fun facts (which are often laugh-out-loud one-liners presented in the Muppets’ characteristically ironic style of humor), as well as a brief biography; characters’ lengthy absences from stage and screen are often explained by their forays into (hilariously apt) non-showbiz occupations, which is a nice touch that adds a level of realism and humor to the entire volume. Occasional sidebars feature groups of characters (the various pigs and rats, for example) or iconic recurring bits (such as Pigs! In! Spaaaaaaaace!). As with much Muppet humor, a lot of the jokes here will go over younger readers’ heads, but they will absolutely delight long-time Muppet aficionados. This isn’t quite the gang in their finest form, but it’s about as good as it gets from recent Muppet productions, and if nothing else it’s a fitting celebration of the Muppets’ glorious history. Now, if you need me, I’ll be watching the Muppet Show.
