Propoganda submitted by kmeraj on October 23, 2013, 1:41am Whatever happened to this innocent little girl was absolutely horrible and wrong but now she and her life is being used by media locally and internationally. The greatest Propaganda of our time.

Lots of positive messages submitted by tshish on August 17, 2015, 4:53pm Strong messages about faith, courage, education, refusing to give up, having a deep love of family and home, and standing up for what you believe.

inspirational submitted by Justin Shim on June 17, 2016, 12:45pm This story shows to never give up on your dreams, and let your downs empower you even more to go up. Made me cry, so inspirational, so brave, so empowering.

I Am Malala submitted by leighsprauer on June 27, 2018, 9:41pm I feel badly for not liking this book more, but unfortunately it was something of a let-down. Of course, it’s intended for young adults, so I shouldn’t have expected exceptional prose, and it was written by a young adult, so I shouldn’t have expected life-altering wisdom, but for some reason I did expect to be moved, and for various reasons, I wasn’t. Obviously, Malala is incredibly courageous, and has lived an astounding life: a passionate advocate for girls’ education, shot by the Taliban for her out-spoken views, and continuing to fight despite the consequences. But I wish I had read her life story as told by another author, perhaps someone who could better put it in context and provide a more thorough and mature presentation.

Malala submitted by tbbrown76 on July 11, 2018, 3:54pm The writing style is a bit simplistic, but the story is very powerful. Excellent book and person.

A must read! submitted by supercinnamonroll on July 13, 2020, 5:29pm Powerful story and a must read for anyone! Really expresses culture and politics in other places

Inspiring story submitted by zoppa on August 29, 2020, 4:23pm Such an inspiring woman. The book had very detailed descriptions and portrayal of people of her culture. These parts may not be relatable for most western adults. It should be in every teenager's library.

So beautiful. submitted by graytabby on August 2, 2021, 7:51am Malala is one mighty girl. And girls and boys alike need to hear this story. I usually don't read autobiographies, but this one is a must read for everyone.

This book was absolutely riveting! submitted by Cherie on August 8, 2023, 1:13pm Even though most will already know how it ends (Malala survives), the journey Malala takes you through tugs at your emotions to such a degree that it makes the book nearly impossible to put down because you want to know what happens next.

She gives a beautifully narrated history of her country, her religion, and her family. She provides an in-depth look at the suffering her people went through during the rise of Taliban regime, and the seemingly useless efforts of the military forces fighting them. Her writing gracefully blends the innocence of a child's perspective with the wisdom of an adult. Highly accessible to all audiences, and recommended for teens and adults.
