Peter Bogdanovich's homage to musical comedies of the 1930s. A pastiche of Cole Porter songs woven together to tell a tale of life among the idle rich. The romantic roundelay is peopled by a carefree playboy, a madcap heiress, a Broadway diva and an Italian gambler. A pair of wised-up servants provide a little perspective. The film features 1930s-inspired, black-and white-in color and design.
