Excellent tool submitted by daiuy on October 29, 2013, 7:11pm Awesome tool: very accurate and easy to use. This is a professional model, nothing like the basic $20 toy-like models available online. You can't go wrong with Fluke. Users need some basic understanding on how this type of instrument works. "Standard" users may find the "Black & Decker TLD100 Thermal Leak Detector" easier to use and understand.
Awesome! submitted by ssmyth on August 6, 2014, 9:27am We were thinking about buying one of these, but wanted to try one out first to see how it worked and 'get a feel for it'. This is the top of the line model and is amazing! We love it and are getting one of our own that's not quite as good. It's wonderful that we have these types of tools to check out at our library!
Use to find energy leaks submitted by AprilCDB on June 19, 2015, 1:56pm Husband used this tool to look for sources of heat loss in our house. Very useful tool.
Hotter, hotter. submitted by ssands on June 23, 2015, 3:34pm It was interesting to walk around in the winter with this to see which windows were losing heat. It didn't really work to check which jacket was more insulating by putting one on one arm and the other on the other arm, maybe because the difference was so slight that random error swamped it out.
Restaurant reviews submitted by edwardvielmetti on June 17, 2016, 1:38pm Ideal for taking to your favorite buffet restaurant and seeing at a glance whether their hot and cold temperature handling is good.
hot or cold submitted by KSB2013 on July 10, 2016, 10:39pm excellent tool
Great Tool. Terrible Manual. submitted by RedStallion2000 on April 26, 2019, 1:24pm This is a very useful (and fun) tool. However, the manual is horrible. Almost no text in the manual, especially for the most important part -- how to use the thing. You have to decipher all of the pictures to try and figure out how to use the more advanced features. No explanation of why you need the laser, etc. Terrible. At least it's easy to just take a quick measurement without reading the manual...
Thermometer submitted by Varshini on July 3, 2019, 4:02pm Really cool and useful tool. I think this would be very helpful to you if your house had energy leaks.
So fun

Point it at anything! How hot is your hand? How hot is the wall? How cold is the ice cream?
Now you have answers to all these pressing questions
