Not my favorite... submitted by BurntSaori on July 19, 2019, 9:28pm This was so far my least favorite book in this series. Though they travel the whole expanse of Australia, we get none of the richness and interest of the previous explorations of countries I’ve come to expect from Temeraire and his companions. Australia is bleak, barren and deadly, and it took them sooo loong to cross it. That’s kind of it. The political intrigue and difficulties they face are more let down, with almost no chance for Temeraire or Lawrence to shine. I didn’t hate it, but it was sort of frustrating.
