Fantastic! submitted by our family books on July 22, 2013, 1:09pm I am not sure if our family loved the illustrations or the story more. Fantastic illustrations - where you keep noticing little details every time you read it - and a great story.
Great book!

fun read! submitted by rsivaraj on August 29, 2013, 3:22pm Loved the book and the adventure - some books are just made for the readers to keep staring at the pics and this is one like that!!

Pretty much perfect submitted by FordAlpha on August 12, 2019, 9:41pm "The Day Louis Got Eaten" is a very nearly perfect picture book, one of a handful that I recommend to every parent I know. The illustrations add the perfect amount of detail to the story, rewarding repeated readings/viewings (I noticed something new each of the first 4–5 times I read it), and the text is economical yet fun. I love its subtle feminism, its matter-of-factness, the silly names of the creatures, and how the siblings save each other. The only thing I can find to complain about is that it's a bit tricky to follow the winding lines of text on the spread where Sarah climbs into the creatures' bellies.
