'Killer' Joe Cooper is a Dallas detective who doubles as a hitman with the charm of a Southern gentleman. Chris hires Joe to kill his mother in order to collect her life insurance and pay off his debts. When Chris is unable to pay for the service up front, Joe takes Chris's sister Dottie as a retainer until he can be paid.

Black Comedy submitted by jibkidder on July 27, 2022, 10:59pm The meeting of Friedkin, Letts & McConaughey is the goldilocks zone! This is a dark comedy and people who don't laugh at disturbed things won't find much to hold on to. But watching this with my dead friend was one of the last times we laughed together, deep laughs like the time we took acid. "Bug" is pretty good too, another Friedkin, Letts collabo, but this is better.
