Great Short Read submitted by gwenyth on August 6, 2019, 7:04am Despite how short this book is (I read it in one afternoon) the story and magic is surprisingly intricate. Brandon Sanderson is known for world-building and this book really emphasizes this skill since the world is well formed and detailed despite the length. I personally thought the characters were intriguing and the magic in the book was original.

Engaging short book submitted by bahr on July 18, 2021, 10:26pm Brandon Sanderson crafted a really fun story that can be read as a great introduction to his Cosmere universe. I found the story kept me going, rooting for a character who might be morally questionable (read and decide for yourself). After I finished this book I wished it were longer, but only because I really had so much fun reading it. If you've read other Sanderson books and liked them, I'm pretty sure you'll enjoy this one too.
