Wonderful submitted by LibraryMaven on July 28, 2014, 6:51pm After reading the first book in this series, The Girl Who Circumnavigated Fairyland In a Ship of Her Own Making, I wondered if Valente's powers of imagination would be as good in a sequel, because, man, they are awesome in the first book. I have a fairly good imagination and I still cannot imagine how she comes up with some of the creatures she comes up with. I am very glad to say that The Girl Who Fell Beneath Fairyland and Led the Revels There does not disappoint. September is just as much her own person the second time around and Valente builds on Fairyland and September's adventures without becoming repetitive. The omniscient narration stays just on this side of becoming twee and/or cloying and the wordplay is as fantastic as ever. For those who like quirky fantasy, a sure hit.
