Entertaining submitted by crazypockets on June 18, 2013, 6:28pm Don't go into this expecting anything more than a silly, vampire take on history. It's meant to be fantasy, and it is what it advertises. It has some good action, and it's just an entertaining idea. Someone told me the history in the book is pretty accurate (besides the whole vampire thing, of course), so that's interesting. I don't think the movie upheld that too well, but like I said, don't expect historical accuracy on this one.

This movie is NOT what you're probably expecting. submitted by Flying Sheep on June 19, 2013, 7:22pm When I first heard that there would be a movie featuring Abe Lincoln butchering vampires, I knew I had to see it and make fun of its absurdity. I went into this movie expecting something really dumb that could have been written by a middle-schooler with too much time on his hands. I couldn't have been more wrong.

Abraham Lincoln, Vampire Hunter is stunningly realistic and historically accurate (obviously not counting the vampires). It's a very good historical fiction/fantasy movie that is written such that the story could have actually happened in the real world's history (if vampires were real). All of the non-vampire main characters were real people and many of the historical events that did in fact happen are slightly altered in the story so that the vampires were responsible for major events of the time (i.e., Lincoln's son's mysterious death, the initial massive Confederate successes at Gettysburg, etc.). Aside from the history being spot on, the special effects are very impressive and the action scenes are exciting. The movie also mixes in some humor here and there. Despite the outward appearance of being a dopey fan-fiction, Abraham Lincoln, Vampire Hunter is an incredibly good movie, that I would recommend to anyone who enjoys action movies, historical fiction or both (like me).

Great 4ht of July Action Movie! submitted by tonyabreu on July 5, 2013, 11:29am Great 4th of July Action Movie, for Independence Day. "At the age of 9, Abraham Lincoln witnesses his mother being killed by a vampire, Jack Barts. Some 10 years later; as President of the United States, he comes to realize that vampires are fighting with the Confederate forces. As a result he mounts his own campaign to defeat them."!

Not a typical vampire movie submitted by ssmyth on August 4, 2013, 1:02pm OK - I don't like vampire movies - at all, so really did not even want to see it. Turns out it was VERY good!! I agree with Flying Sheep completely and really did enjoy the movie. Give it a chance!!

Not a Vampire Fan submitted by cjkoho on June 12, 2015, 12:36pm But I did love this movie. The history is incredibly accurate and I enjoyed following Lincoln's life with a little fantasy thrown in. Plus - who doesn't like that Mary Todd gets to be a total bad ass?!

Radical submitted by wgregory on July 3, 2016, 8:42pm Such an exciting movie!

Silly submitted by ishhewitt on July 10, 2016, 1:03pm I guess if you really love Abe or vampires you'd like this. I wasn't impressed. I don't recommend.
