Fantasy with Books in Michigan! submitted by sdunav on June 17, 2013, 3:18pm This was an interesting urban fantasy involving books (especially SF) and Gutenberg and dryads. I'm not sure I would have liked it as much as I did if it weren't set in Michigan - in the UP, at the MSU campus in East Lansing, in Jackson, and in the salt caves under Detroit.

So much fun submitted by Susan4Pax -prev. sueij- on August 14, 2013, 8:24pm This was a little on the "light/fluffy" side of what I really look for in reading material, but rated four stars anyway because the concept is simply fantastic: there is a kind of magic that allows some people to reach INTO books and pull things out.

How awesome is that? And of course, given Hines' regular readers, this magician's specialty is fantasy and SF. So you meet a dryad, use a nuclear powered hand gun, and get healed with Bujold's medicine. Sonic screwdriver, anyone?

Fun and well done. I'll definitely read more in the series when they come out.

A love letter to books submitted by SurfGrape on July 5, 2017, 7:18pm This was essentially a love letter to books. It was awesome.
