Great Introduction submitted by Meginator on July 28, 2019, 12:27pm This brief documentary is an engaging introduction to the iterative design process, using examples from Disney theme parks to illustrate the ways in which professionals approach attraction design from one little spark of imagination to a fully realized real-world experience. Featuring the upbeat hosting talents of Asa Kalama and interviews with several Imagineers, including the iconic Joe Rohde, the film presents its information at an appropriate level for its target audience. I particularly appreciated the focus on Expedition Everest as, ironically, the designers’ models failed to foresee problems with the original audio-animatronic Yeti figure (RIP). Despite this, and a reference to the scale models for as-yet-unfinished Cars Land, the presentation has aged well overall and offers an excellent introduction to the topic.
