"The story that inspired the Academy Award-winning short film"--Jkt.
Morris Lessmore loves words, stories and books; after a powerful storm carries him to another land, dreary and colorless, he finds a single book in color that leads him to an amazing library where, he learns, the books need him as much as he needs them.

Nice Book About Books! submitted by crazypockets on July 27, 2012, 7:46pm I'm not sure how much this book is for children, but they will probably enjoy it. It does have more of an appeal to adults though. It's a nice story about how an appreciation for books can follow a person through his or her entire life. It's based on the movie that won the Academy Award for best short film, and it does work as a book, too. The illustrations are nearly works of art, and it's just a nice book all around.
Nice Book About Death submitted by David Marshall on August 23, 2012, 2:45pm I bought this for my nephew after reading it. Too few children's books are bold enough to treat deep and difficult subjects. This one did a nice job, showing one persons life as being written every day, and coming to a bittersweet end. Read it and watch Mr. Magorium's Wonder Emporium with a child who's lost a beloved grandparent.
