Sequel to: Wolf Hall.
"The sequel to Hilary Mantel's 2009 Man Booker Prize winner and New York Times bestseller, Wolf Hall delves into the heart of Tudor history with the downfall of Anne Boleyn Though he battled for seven years to marry her, Henry is disenchanted with Anne Boleyn. She has failed to give him a son and her sharp intelligence and audacious will alienate his old friends and the noble families of England. When the discarded Katherine dies in exile from the court, Anne stands starkly exposed, the focus of gossip and malice. At a word from Henry, Thomas Cromwell is ready to bring her down. Over three terrifying weeks, Anne is ensnared in a web of conspiracy, while the demure Jane Seymour stands waiting her turn for the poisoned wedding ring. But Anne and her powerful family will not yield without a ferocious struggle. Hilary Mantel's Bring Up the Bodies follows the dramatic trial of the queen and her suitors for adultery and treason. To defeat the Boleyns, Cromwell must ally with his natural enemies, the papist aristocracy. What price will he pay for Anne's head?"-- Provided by publisher.

A good sequel submitted by betsywil on August 6, 2013, 9:33pm If you read Wolf Hall, you will find this a fast and fun read, covering less than one year in the lives of Henry VIII, Anne Boleyn and Thomas Cromwell. (Do be sure to read Wolf Hall before starting this book.)

Now waiting for Mantel's third and final Cromwell book, to be called The Mirror And The Light. The end of Bring Up the Bodies sets the stage most effectively for what we know will happen next.

nice submitted by Dron.Druheen on August 17, 2015, 6:56pm great

Amazing sequel submitted by wellscai on August 10, 2018, 10:13pm I cannot wait for the third book to come out. I've rarely read a sequel that can live up to the original book, but Bring Up the Bodies did so incredibly well. Mantel does a fantastic job of bringing the characters (back) to life, and exploring the mind of an individual who is often seen as overly ambitious and greedy.

Sequel to 'Wolf Hall' submitted by sVfGI7Glt2pz7GZgVB90 on August 13, 2020, 6:30am The book started somewhat slowly, but, as the story proceeds, it turns into a real page-turner. Mantel does an outstanding job of nurturing feelings of tension and suspense, tying together a variety of themes from love and power to religion and morality.
