Excellent Drama submitted by crazypockets on June 29, 2012, 10:28am I was surprised how much I enjoyed this movie. I'd never had any interest in J. Edgar Hoover at all, but it was recommended to me, so I checked it out. What a great drama, and a fascinating person! I still can't believe this movie was snubbed by the Oscars. Leonardo DiCaprio really stretched his acting legs and completely deserved at least a nomination. His portrayal of such a controversial character was outstanding. He really demonstrated the complexity behind Hoover and even somehow managed to make him a sympathetic character. The other members of the cast were great too. This movie completely held my attention, something I was sure it wouldn't, and I would highly recommend it to anyone who likes history, biographies, or just plain old good drama.
